Saffire is: Gareth Koch, Karin Schaupp, Slava Grigoryan, & Leonard Grigoryan - 4 of Australia's most dynamic young classical guitarists. Renaissance, as its name implies, is music inspired by a period in history. 'Inspired' being the imperative word, as these astounding musicians utilise this genre as a springboard for their own composing, arranging and performing skills bringing a contemporary sound to an early form of music. Performing on a variety of instruments in the guitar family - baritone guitar, dobro, steel string, classical, nylon and octave guitar - what you hear is not a quartet but a small orchestra, an expansive sound-scape unlike any other. You will be taken away by this music, taken away by the passion and the joy which is Saffire.
